The Eureka Schools Foundation will hold its 2nd annual 5k race to kick off the Country Faire on Sunday, May 23rd, 2010! The race will start at 8:30 a.m. at Granite Bay High School and make its way around our beautiful Granite Bay community. Attracting local families and running enthusiasts from around the greater Sacramento area, this event will promote a healthy active lifestyle and provide another opportunity to raise much-needed funds for our schools.

Take Highway 80 north or south to Eureka Road exit. Take Eureka Road south for 3.3 miles. Stay straight to go on Wellington Way. The high school is .2 miles on the left.

Sunday Morning Event Schedule:

7:00—8:15 Registration and packet pickup at Granite Bay High School

8:00            Pre-race warm up

8:30            5k Run/Walk begins

9:30            Kid Sprints begin on GBHS track 100 yard dash: age 10 & under

10:30          Awards Ceremony on Main Stage of Eureka Country Faire at Feist Park

Course Information:

The 5k course begins and ends in the Granite Bay High School (GBHS) football stadium. The course is a mix of flat and hilly paved roads with a water and first-aid station at the half-way point.

Kid Sprints:

Children 10 and under are invited to participate in an untimed, mini-race held on the track in the GBHS stadium at 9:30 a.m.

5k Race Fees: (subject to change)

All entries include race t-shirt and goody bag.

Divisions:  

Male & Female divisions for: 
9 and under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. 

Awards will be presented to:

1) Overall male/female winners.

2) Top three male and female 5k runners in each age category.

3) All kids participating in the Kid Sprint will receive a ribbon of participation.

Pre-race packet pick-up:

Volunteers:

The excitement is building for ESF’s 5k Fund Run and Eureka Country Faire and we need volunteers to make this day a great success! Shifts are 1-2 hours and kids 13 and older can volunteer.
