The Eureka Schools Foundation (ESF) is a non-profit foundation that supports the students of the Eureka Union School District.
Founded more than 16 years ago by a partnership of parents, community members, and local businesses, ESF has served to bridge the gap in unpredictable and insufficient education funding from our state government.
ESF preserves programs and resources that are essential building blocks to our kids’ education and their future.

How does ESF’s funding affect my child and his/her school?
ESF funds in whole or in part (through cost sharing with the district and/or with parents) resources and programs in the areas of science, computer technology, foreign language, libraries, music and athletics. Without private funding through ESF, these programs outside of the standard curriculum would be eliminated. ESF strives for equality amongst all of the district school configurations (K-3, 4-6, and 7-8).
How is the state budget crisis affecting the Eureka School district and ESF?
As every Californian knows, the budget crisis is very serious and still unsettled as to its effects on state funding for education now and in the future. EUSD has identified a $3.4 million shortfall in funding over the next three years. The district has asked ESF to attempt to significantly increase our fundraising results over the next three years – up to $800,000 annually – or else risk cuts to essential enrichment programs.
What can parents do?
· Participate and attend ESF fundraising events throughout the year and encourage business contacts and family to do the same!
· Donate to the ESF annual fundraising campaign. Your tax-deductible donation will help keep these established programs and curriculum in place for every student!
· Volunteer your special talents, business services, business development building, graphic design expertise and other sales and marketing skill-sets!
· Patronize local businesses that support ESF.
